The $200,000 grant will fund critical advancements in Pavaka's Electroceutical Advanced Wound Dressing (EAWD), including FDA regulatory milestones, prototype refinement, and manufacturing optimization for this innovative, antibiotic-free solution targeting multidrug resistant bacteria and biofilms in infected wounds.
Building on its exclusive license from The Ohio State University and a $2.2M DoD-funded clinical trial with 112 patients—demonstrating preliminary significance in biofilm disruption—the grant will accelerate EAWD's path to commercialization, addressing the needs of over 6.7 million U.S. chronic wound patients annually amid rising antimicrobial resistance challenges.
